Assists New Business Development with initial meetings to discover client needs and project scope, on all sizes of projects with a focus on large scale, competitive, or phased projects
· Attends new client interviews (as needed) to help win projects
· Guides and trains Jr Designers and Designers
· Facilitates programming phase with client, including:
- Provides client with preliminary layouts, budget and lead times of furniture.
- Guides client with final finish selections to meet design intent. Field verifications of client space,
including taking field dimensions and verifying existing inventory
- Receives final client approval of drawings and direct link quote to Hedberg.
- Performs audits on projects with Project Audit and Planning Specialist. Works directly with Client Services
to ensure excellence with the project process.
- Prepares installation documents, using Business Furniture standard installation and architectural symbols.
· Project Coordination
- Establishes a professional working relationship with the client and its end users as well as any
subcontractors necessary on the job
- Attends pre-install meetings to assist in coordinating project.
· Coordinates w/ Project Manager to ensure the project installation goes smoothly
· Training
- Attends all design, sales and marketing meetings, as well as other required meetings to be determined.
- Attends all required training sessions, applying information and techniques learned to applicable projects.
· Four year degree in Interior Design or related field
· Expertise in CET, Autocad and 3D modeling programs
· A minimum of 2 years experience working for design firm or furniture dealer
· Strong product knowledge, specifically Steelcase, and other Business Furniture manufacturer partners
· Strong knowledge of space planning and specifying furniture
· Great relationship building skills – ability to communicate clearly and effectively with client.
· Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings
· Demonstrates commitment to internal and external client service.
· Develops working relationships with sales team members
· Meticulous with detail and accuracy in deliverables
· Understands the Business Furniture order process.

· Serve as one of the primary points of contact for client support related to Indianapolis clients.
· Respond to and manage project requests across all Indianapolis sites, ensuring timely and accurate follow-up.
· Generate quotes, address pricing inquiries, conduct product research, and provide technical order information.
· Maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders.
· Participate in ongoing meetings including Monday Team Huddles, weekly internal design meetings, and other
team meetings.
· Responsible for identifying forecast of upcoming projects in partnership with Account Executive.
· Attend status report calls.
· Join weekly Steelcase Order Fulfillment calls to ensure alignment and progress tracking.
· At least 3 years experience in a customer facing role.
· Experience in the furniture industry is preferered.
· Knowledge of order and pricing systems.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills.
· Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
· Demonstrated ability to be hyper-responsive and proactive in addressing client needs.
· Ability to be agile and flexible with team responsibilities.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams.

· Support Business Furniture’s relationship with client and onsite Designers, facility contractors through effective
communication, rapport building, responsiveness and productive use of time.
· Prepare quotes and pricing through Hedberg and future ERP programs.
· Ensure that execution of project takes place within the project timeline, as set by client and Account Executive.
· Use CET to create layout and space plan that fits well within the building envelope.
· Present design and product solutions to the client which includes drawings, basic renderings and budget
estimates.
· Ensure that there is a site verification and measurement of areas to ensure proper fit of furniture.
· Coordinate projects with Network Partners for project execution outside of the state.
· Communicate and coordinate electrical needs with architectural and electrical project teams
· Build trusted relationships with our furniture vendor partners, in coordination with the Account Executive.
· Participate in the audit process. Stay engaged in all phases of the order placement process including planning
for installation of the furniture.
· Create install drawings.
· Maintain and advise on customer furniture standards.
· Has a desire to work in a highly collaborative team environment.
· Stays relevant with job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional
publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in industry events.
· Participate in all Design/Sales/departmental meetings and training sessions.

o All products received is verified against the packing list for accuracy and completeness.
o All products are racked immediately with accurate locations noted on packing lists
o All products are inspected for damage/shortages and handled within the Freight Claim process
o All products are to be handled in a safe manner, including the proper palletization or other safe storage techniques for our racked locations
o All products are accurately pulled from location and staged according
o All products are inspected for damage and completeness
o Assisting with the loading of product when needed
o All products are stored to preserve its condition when received by Business Furniture
o All products are accurately identified in its location on the Warehouse Aisle charts located in Excel
o When applicable, an accurate customer inventory is maintained and available to the customer on demand
o Specific customer storage requirements are maintained
o All floor areas, including all aisles, are to be free of product by the end of each day
o All trash and other debris are to be swept and disposed of by the end of each day (Dock area, Arises, Outside Lot area, Etc.)
o Warehouse office furniture and floor is to be clean by the end of each day
o General building maintenance (i.e. replace light bulbs, snow removal; sidewalks, salt when needed)
o Breakdown skids for disposal in Dumpster
o Proper safeguarding of returned products to ensure that we can locate for eventual disposition
o Products to be rearranged and/or relocated to make the most efficient use of our warehouse facility
o Ensure safe use of all material handling equipment
o Comply with all company policies and procedures
o Follow all safety procedures
o Immediately report any accident or injury to your supervisor
o Use required PPE
o Required to participate in assigned training activities. Responsible for successfully completing all on-the job training programs and cross training activities (Forklift Operation, Proper Lifting Techniques, Etc.)
o High school diploma or equivalent
o Prior experience in furniture handling preferred
o Prior warehouse experience preferred
o Certification on Business Furniture -owned material handling equipment
o Ability to lift a minimum of 75 pounds
o Ability to develop high level of product knowledge for accurate identification of inbound and outbound product
