The Eskenazi Health Center Grande Campus opened in Spring 2024 as a state-of-the-art facility consolidating multiple health services into one modern, community-focused destination. With a vision centered on dignity, comfort, and real-life functionality, the project team set out to create spaces that supported not only patients but also their families and caregivers.
Business Furniture + Co. collaborated with interior designers and healthcare specialists to implement thoughtful, tech-friendly furniture solutions throughout the facility. From cleanable materials and integrated power access to zones that balance privacy and connection, every detail was designed to enhance the experience for all users.
The result is a healthcare environment that reflects the evolving expectations of today’s patients and families—spaces that are welcoming, personal, and built to support productivity, healing, and autonomy.
Healthcare design has shifted dramatically in the last decade, and at the Eskenazi Health Center Grande Campus, that transformation is tangible.
We were proud to partner with the architectural team—arcDESIGN, StudioAXIS, and Moody Nolan—to support Eskenazi Health’s human-centered vision. From the start, it was clear: waiting areas weren’t just for waiting anymore. Families, caregivers, and friends needed comfortable places to take calls, manage paperwork, or simply decompress.
Our designer, Jenni Mendoza, shared that “waiting is already uncomfortable—spaces shouldn’t be.” That thinking shaped the entire approach. Together, we designed with intention: personal zones, hard surfaces for laptops, easy access to power, and materials that are both cleanable and comforting.
What made this project exceptional was the deep level of community engagement. Eskenazi Health didn’t just ask what people needed—they truly listened. That feedback informed everything, from flexible furniture layouts to wellness-inspired additions like community gardens and walking paths.
Today, the space is more than just a healthcare facility. It’s a hub of healing, connection, and respect for the people it serves.

I’ve never worked with a group so deeply invested in true community engagement. They didn’t just ask the community what they needed, they really listened...It’s what makes this space a true treasure for the people who live here, a place designed with their health and lives in mind.
