The Arthur Dean Family Foundation office renovation project commenced in 2022, breaking ground on the ambitious effort to create a space that reflected their communal culture. After in-depth consultations with leadership, the design team recognized that the project's primary goal was establishing a welcoming, comfortable space centered around openness and engagement - one that promoted deeper connections between all stakeholders, fostered a sense of belonging, and ultimately supported the Foundation's mission to provide life-changing programs for young people and families in need. The solution proposed involved constructing dynamic spaces to facilitate interactivity. Light-filled lounges, glass-walled conference rooms, and collaborative settings aimed to create a sense of community.
The renovation, completed in 2023, has equipped the Arthur Dean Family Foundation with a thoughtfully-designed supportive environment that empowers their staff. By enhancing transparency and dialogue, it enables their meaningful work uplifting the wider community to continue impacting lives for the better.
As a nonprofit dedicated to uplifting youth and families, we were excited about the opportunity to help Arthur Dean Family Foundation to create a welcoming hub for their growing staff and partners.
After conducting several meetings with leadership, we honed in on their vision - an open, flowing office centered around connection. We crafted a design to promote both community and focus balancing collaborative settings with individual offices and areas for respite.
Months later, it's clear the office redesign facilitates the Foundation's purposeful service. The renewed energy and strengthened connections reflect their community-driven culture. Overall, the finished workspace supports their team in making a meaningful, positive impact.

It was deeply fulfilling to help the Foundation manifest their vision for a welcoming, engaging space. Seeing their reactions on reveal day confirmed that our partnership elevated both heart and productivity, empowering their purpose.
A: The goal for the new office space was a contemporary, warm, welcoming and comfortable work, convening and office space for both our staff and our grantee partners. It was important to us that they (our partners) be able to see themselves in the space and feel welcomed and that they belonged there.
A: ADFF undertook this renovation because we needed a home for the foundation but also wanted to be able to host our grantees and provide them with support beyond the grant check. We will use the space to convene, provide workshops and offer workspace, meeting space and event space to our grantee partners.
A: Staff enjoy coming to work in this space. Every grantee has commented on how amazing the space is. We introduced it to them formally in December and as of mid-January we have had 6 grantees reserve or plan to reserve the space for their use. so, it is supporting their work in providing a comfortable and inspiring place to meet and work.
