INDIANAPOLIS, IND:

Construction started Monday, January 30, at the Business Furniture + Co Indianapolis showroom located on the city’s westside off Bearing Drive.

Business Furniture partnered with Kort Builders and DELV Design to complete the company’s most extensive renovation project in nearly a decade, and the first working showroom centered around hybrid research.

Rooted in research-based data, the 14,000-square-foot working showroom will completely transform to integrate hybrid work and flexible office concepts to simulate a neighborhood strategy.

“We believe in the power of neighborhoods to re-ignite the office,” says Business Furniture CEO and Co-owner Mary Beth Oakes, “This means unassigned team spaces, neighborhoods, not gated communities create a variety of interconnected spaces that support different types of hybrid work. Through our research, we’ve learned people want more control and a range of diverse spaces.”

The working showroom will be the headquarters for more than 60 Business Furniture employees. Teams will find a neighborhood that fulfills all five work modes: focus, collaboration, learning, socializing, and rejuvenation.

“Hybrid is the future and the key to attracting and retaining new talent,” said President and Business Furniture Co-owner Suzanne Bentley, who leads the team’s Human Resource efforts, “we will truly set the standard of how an office can and should feel like an extension of your community.”

The Business Furniture office space will also feature the newest product launched by Steelcase, Everwall, a new architectural wall system designed to transform interior spaces quickly and easily. Everwall provides a balance of acoustic performance and aesthetic options, with the freedom designers want and one of the fastest installations in the industry.

Additional lines featured at the Business Furniture showroom include Interface, OFS, Designtex, Orangebox, and BluDot.
